Ellsworth Kelly (born May 31, 1923) is an American painter, sculptor, and printmaker associated with hard-edge painting, Color Field painting and the minimalist school. His works demonstrate unassuming techniques emphasizing simplicity of form. Kelly often employs bright colors. This year he celebrates his 90 birthday while continuing to be an active artist. His work has been the inspiration for many designers.
