One of the current trends depicted in contemporary design is colorful, simple, graphics. Many of these products utilize placed patterns rather than repeating patterns. The designs are inspired by minimalist artists like Ellsworth Kelly, Donald Judd, Brice Marden, & Robert Mangold amongst others who used bright primary colors and geometric shapes in their work.
