Another use of Recycled Plastic Bottles

 

 

Raj Overseas creates amazing carpets out of yarns made of recycled plastic bottles or PET fiber.  We have written other entries on this topic if you would like to understand the process better.  We wanted you to see the world is noticing that more and more people are becoming innovative on recycling the popular plastic bottle from polluting our Earth.

Product Designer Alvaro Catalán de Ocón worked with indigenous tribes in Colombia to come up with a great way to keep the pollution of plastic bottles out of the Amazon and making a beautiful product for the home.  He instructed the artisans to use their handwork in weaving to come up with lamps and baskets made out of the plastic bottles. Alvaro showed his PET Lamp collection at the Milan Furniture Fair 2013.
